It’s a statement piece, a conversation starter, and a testament to Buzetti’s relentless pursuit of knifemaking perfection. Retaining the original Padawan’s 14C28N blade steel and smooth-opening IKBS™ ball-bearing pivot, the newest addition to the Padawan family elevates the knife with a refined aesthetic and premium materials, like a striking, wear-resistant carbon fiber overlay on the brushed stainless steel handle. Ikoma passed his perfectionism down to Buzetti, a trait that’s made clear by this stunning EDC’s undeniable marriage of function and form.

With a formal education in architecture, Brazilian Pedro Buzetti embraces the motto, “form and function, not one above the other.” This harmony is evident in his custom work and brought to life in the Padawan folding knife—Pedro’s first collaboration with CRKT. In the longstanding tradition of mentorship among knifemakers, Pedro studied under acclaimed maker Flavio Ikoma—inventor of the Deadbolt® lock and IKBS™ ball bearing pivot. While under Flavio’s watchful eye, Pedro honed his technical skills and refined his design approach, resulting in perfectly balanced knives with subtle design cues inspired by his mentor’s signature aesthetic. Perfectionism—another trait imbued by Flavio—is a constant in Pedro’s work, with each finished piece better than the last, no matter how marginal the improvement may be.
