The CRKT Holiday Gift Guide for Hunters & Anglers
Take the guesswork out of holiday gifting with CRKT’s hand-picked knives and tools for the hunters and anglers on your list.
Inspired by decades guiding hunts in the wilds of Alaska, Idaho and North Dakota, the CRKT Soldotna is the culmination of knifemaker and big game hunter Russ Kommer’s pursuit of designing the perfect hunting knife. Made in the USA, the Soldonta features a tough 1095 carbon steel blade with a Cerakote® finish, which provides an ideal balance of edge retention and corrosion resistance while still being able to touch up the edge in the field. The drop point blade measures just under 3.5”, which is nimble enough to make more intricate cuts when field dressing an animal, while the belly of the knife makes short work of skinning. The micarta handle is grippy in wet situations and the subtle curvature of the finger guard helps to lock in your grip when making those blind cuts gutting big game.
For anyone who works or recreates on the water, the CRKT Bear Claw™ is an absolute must-have rescue knife. Originally designed for bush pilots in Alaska to cut themselves free should their floatplane flip upon landing, the Bear Claw™ is engineered with safety in mind. A blunt tip prevents accidental punctures and can safely slip under webbing or rope without cutting someone. The three scalloped Veff Serrations™ along the hawksbill blade are the best-in-class serrations for quickly cutting rope, cordage and webbing, while the retention hole makes it easy to reference and retain the knife in high stress situations. The sheath can be easily mounted to a PFD or the console of a boat, making the Bear Claw™ always in reach to save the day.
It’s best to trust the hardworking outdoorsmen and women to design the tools intended to do hard work in the field. Such is the case with the CRKT Hunt’N Fisch™, designed by the late Larry Fischer, an accomplished traditional bowhunter, outdoorsman and lifelong conservationist. Needless to say, the Hunt’N Fisch™ fixed blade embodies Larry’s approach to design: highly functional and elegant, it just works. The knife has multiple friction grooves along the spine for optimum blade control, as well as jimping on the finger choil to help lock in your grip. The 3” blade is nimble enough to make precise cuts, while the belly towards the tip makes for efficient skinning. This useful, multi-purpose design lives on in tribute of Larry's active life and a testament to his design acumen. 100% of the net profits of this knife go to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in memory of Larry.
Custom knifemaker Alan Folts is known for taking a less-is-more approach with his designs, which is evident in the CRKT Biwa™. The Biwa™ is a featherweight bird and trout fixed blade that easily tucks away into a pack or can be carried on a belt for easy access. Featuring a 12C27 blade and micarta handle, the Biwa™’s slender profile and needle point tip make this knife an ideal companion when processing small fish, cutting bait and rigging gear. This version comes with a handsome black leather sheath.
The perfect all-around knife is hard to find–a knife that’s tough enough for big jobs and compact enough for EDC and light work. Whether you’re working on a job site, adventuring in the backcountry or on a high alpine hunt, if there’s one knife that can take on any task, it’s the CRKT Bugsy.
The Bugsy is built to be versatile. With multiple handle and sheathing options, two blade configurations and an overall length of 7.44 inches, Bugsy is big enough for any job, but small enough to carry discreetly.
Bugsy was designed by knifemaker Kaila Cumings of the hit show Naked and Afraid. With Kaila’s minimalist mentality driving design and made-in-the-USA manufacturing, Bugsy is a knife for all seasons. A knife for all reasons.
Cut through the worst situations with the CRKT Catchall™ – a do-all fixed blade that handles everything you throw at it. Designed by professional outdoor guide and custom knifemaker Russ Kommer, the Catchall™ features a 5.5” sheepsfoot blade and contoured handle for a secure grip. Utilize the blade’s strong tip for more precise cutting, or put it to use when prepping meals at your campsite. Regardless how you use it, the knife’s fixed blade design provides the sturdiness needed for hard-use scenarios. When it’s time to call it a day, stow away the blade in its durable sheath to clip onto your bag or clothing. This multifunctional tool isn’t just a handy camp kitchen knife, it’s a versatile outdoor must-have.
Designed by Ryan Johnson of RMJ Tactical, the CRKT Woods Chogan™ T-Hawk is made from a solid chunk of 1055 carbon steel that is hot forged into a rock-solid head that features a hammered finish. With primary and secondary edge bevels that are flat ground, it cuts through timber like a beaver. A hammerhead is useful for pounding in nails, tent stakes or anything else that needs to be “persuaded” into place. The thick wood handle is made in the USA from Tennessee hickory, and is comfortable in hand and sealed with a lacquer coat that adds durability.
As the name implies, the USA made CRKT LCBK, or Lightweight Crossbar Knife, won’t slow you down or take up too much pocket real estate. But when ready to use, the 154CM blade effortlessly snaps to action thanks to the easily accessible thumbstuds and intuitive Crossbar Lock. With an ideal blade-to-handle ratio, the roughly three and half inch blade is long enough to handle most outdoor tasks, yet small enough to not feel clumsy in-hand for fine-detail cutting tasks. The deep carry pocket clip and durable G10 handle make this knife a trusty outdoor companion.
